Our philosophy

Transport planning starts with people and not with the vehicles they use. The starting point is an understanding of people’s needs and motivations, and applying an equitable approach to the analysis of people movement at different scales and by different transport modes. Planning for safe and healthy mobility requires a door-to-door approach, considering all parts of the journeys we make. This principle of multi-modality only becomes meaningful when it transcends all aspects of the way we plan the built environment and the assessment frameworks we use to evaluate transport investment.

Our philosophy

Successful transport planning requires an understanding of connectivity at a range of scales. The most economically successful cities require international connectivity and high quality regional transit, but firms also value the ability to do business with others located a short walk away. Communities all over the world welcome access to opportunities, but what makes neighbourhoods special or rewarding is often local proximity and the opportunity for spontaneous encounters.

Wedderburn Transport Planning is a wholly independent organisation and our turnover is generated solely from transport planning activities. We commit to provide impartial advice and to always consider a full range of policy, demand management and infrastructure solutions.

BEng, MSc / Senior Transport Planner

Sara is a skilled mobility planner with a diverse background in transport planning, architecture, civil engineering, and spatial data science. She has been working with Wedderburn Transport Planning since 2019, where she blends different perspectives into her work. Sara has worked on significant projects throughout Europe and Asia, showcasing her proficiency in computational and quantitative analysis within the context of masterplanning and policy making projects.

In her work, Sara strives to explore unconventional approaches, aiming to find innovative solutions. She develops bespoke analytical tools tailored to unravel the nuances of walking and its implications for retail and mixed-use environments, providing custom analyses that address questions otherwise difficult to answer. A notable aspect of her work is the ability to translate complex data into clear visual representations that play a fundamental role in the form-finding process for numerous masterplanning projects but also serve as powerful tools for client communication.
